Great Britain 5-3 Brazil

Great Britain reached the final of the 2009 IIHF In-Line World Championships with a stylish 5-3 win against Brazil. After yesterday’s win against Japan, GB were fired up to face the Brazilians and despite some inconsistent refereeing looked comfortable. [more]

Great Britain 5-2 Japan
Thursday 11th June 2009

Great Britain moved into the semi-finals of Division One after an excellent win against Japan in Ingolstadt, Germany. A Phil Hamer hat-trick was the star performance on the stats sheet but credit to Nathan Finney with three assists. Richard Walsh also had a fine afternoon scoring his first GB goal and adding an assist. However it was not all plain sailing with GB committing a barrage of penalties, some clear cut, others not so much, and facing at one stage almost eight consecutive minutes of powerplay. [more]

Great Britain missed out on top spot in group D of the IIHF In-Line World Championships and a chance of mid-tournament promotion after defeat to Brazil in Ingolstadt, Germany. In a tense, close game and with the score tied at 1-1 heading into the final period Brazil took the game with four goals in the last quarter. [more]

Great Britain 10-4 Hungary
Monday 8th June 2009

Great Britain tallied a second successive victory at the 2009 IIHF In-Line World Championships and moved top of their group with a 10-4 win against familiar foes Hungary. In a thoroughly impressive performance Alex Pearman stole the show with a hat-trick and an assist while teenagers Phil Hamer (2), Dan Hutchinson and Nathan Finney scored their first goals for GB at this level. With Simon Hehir tallying three assists, it was a solid all-round performance that promises well for the rest of the tournament. Other GB goals were tallied by Kris Hendy, Tim McKay (taking his own tally to three for the tournament) and Remi Moses as they outshot the Hungarians 44-17. [more]

Great Britain opened their account at the 2009 IIHF In-Line Hockey World Championships with a comfortable 5-1 victory against South Africa in Group D. With six players making their GB debuts, it was two returning faces from 2008 who took the plaudits with Tim McKay scoring twice and Mark Hallam grabbing a goal and an assist in a steady showing from the 2008 Division One Silver medallists. Crawley Names 14 to compete for Promotion

The Great Britain Men’s team today announced their roster for the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Inline World Championships to be held in Ingolstadt, Germany June 6th-14th.

Great Britain will take fourteen players to Germany in a new look side including five debutants. Several roster slots were up for grabs this year with several faces from previous years being unavailable for selection due to family and work commitments however the result is an exciting young team that has plenty of potential.

Hopes High for Promotion Attempt

The Great Britain Men’s team fly to Bratislava, Slovakia on Friday June 20th for the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation’s Inline World Championships looking to achieve promotion to the World’s elite nations and the Division One Gold medal. GB will compete in the eight nation Division One, looking for promotion to the top eight nations in the world currently led by 2007 World Champions Sweden. [more]

The Great Britain Men’s team today announced their roster for the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Inline World Championships to be held in Bratislava, Slovakia June 20th-June 28th.

Great Britain will take sixteen players to Slovakia where the team for the third year running will be looking to achieve promotion to the world’s top eight nations. [more]
